St Wilfrid's Welcome Project

Everyone is welcome at St Wilfrid’s.

We are planning to upgrade our facilities and extend the welcome at St Wilfrid's

For almost 900 years St Wilfrid's Church has been at the heart of the community of Grappenhall. It has been the focus for celebrations, worship and community events for generations of people. NOW IS THE TIME to see changes to the building which will benefit future generations and YOU can be part of that exciting development.

A SAFE SPACE for children to play and worship.
A cafe for residents and visitors alike.
A flexible meeting room.
All are part of the plan.

We want our building to be ACCESSIBLE AND FIT FOR PURPOSE for a whole range of people. Older residents will have a cafe to visit in the week, children will be able to use it as a classroom when visiting the church with their school. Visitors will find somewhere to eat their sandwiches and get a cup of tea.

Offering hospitality is at the heart of our welcome and service to the community. We want a building that will be part of our MISSION AND OUTREACH as we share the love of Jesus. This exciting project will be a legacy for the community for generations to come.

So what do we plan to build?

An annexe on the hidden side of the church, with a flexible welcome/discovery room, refreshment area, service and storage area with toilets.

Time for Action

Our (nearly) 900 year old building has many architectural features which show how previous generations have cherished and enhanced it to meet the needs of their time.  Let’s celebrate its 900 years of service to the people of Grappenhall by opening St Wilfrid’s new annex in 2020.

YOU can help
